EXTRACTION EQUIPMENT

3P Certz specializes in 3rd Party Engineering Reviews of plant extraction/processing systems and equipment. Our reviews and accompanying technical reports are prepared in accordance with Section 3904 of the 2018 International Fire Code (IFC) and Chapter 38 of NFPA 1. Each report is prepared and reviewed by registered design professionals licensed in the state in which the equipment will be installed.

Our equipment certification package includes the following elements:

 
 

EQUIPMENT CERTIFICATION REPORT (ECR) - These reports are the main engineering peer review documents for the design of the equipment or system. In order to develop an ECR, we require the following information:

 

  • 3D Model of the system or equipment

  • 2D Drawings of pressure vessels

  • Complete Bill of Materials (BOM)

  • Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID)

  • Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)

    *If you are missing any of these items, we are happy to work with you to develop them.

CERTIFICATE OF CONFORMANCE DOCUMENT (CoC) - Each manufactured unit or system is issued a CoC to document that the equipment exactly matches the design reviewed and certified in the ECR. The physical unit is assigned a serial number and seismic tipping calculations are performed based on the seismic coefficient of the final install location. Any anchoring requirements or special installation instructions are included in the CoC document. In order to prepare a CoC document, we require the following information:

 

  • Name and Address of the equipment owner

  • Address of the installation location

  • Photos of the equipment

    *We will collaborate with you to obtain the required photos.

SERIAL NUMBER TAG - Each manufactured unit or system will be given a 3P Certz serial number tag. The serial number will match that recorded in the CoC document and be registered to the specific equipment owner.

INSTALLATION CERTIFICATION REPORT (ICR) - When required by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), one of our registered professional engineers will travel to the equipment installation site and perform a field verification of the final installation. The ICR will include photo documentation of the following items:

 

  • Verification that the system and all pertinent safety features match that shown in the CoC document

  • Ancillary Equipment installed in the correct location

  • Correct hose routing and wall penetrations

  • Appropriate seismic restraints (if applicable)

  • Bonding and Grounding of all frames and vessels

3P Certz provides comprehensive reviews of extraction rooms and facilities.

FACILITY CERTIFICATION REPORT (FCR) - Our thorough FCR will verify that your hazardous environments are safe and compliant with all applicable local, national, and international codes. One of our registered professional engineers will travel to your facility and review/inspect the following elements:

 
 

  • Extraction/Processing Equipment Installation

  • Lab Booth Installation

  • Ventilation

  • Gas Detection

  • Electrical Systems/Backup Power

  • Fire Extinguishers

  • Egress Paths

  • Property Line Offsets

  • Signage
